Andre Ethier came up clutch for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.

"It was one of those situations - a tie ballgame - so I just felt I should go ahead and give it a shot, put a good aggressive swing on it, see if I could get something in the air and see if I could change the game with one swing," Ethier said postgame. "And I got the right pitch."

The outfielder finished 2-for-5 with three RBIs and belted a solo homer in the eighth inning that gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. Angels catcher Chris Iannetta tied the game at 3-3 in the ninth with an RBI double, setting the stage for Ethier's curtain call.

Ethier's walk-off homer was the seventh of his career and first since 2010.

The Dodgers are now a season-high 15 games over .500 (60-45) and increased their lead in the National League West to 2 1/2 games over the San Francisco Giants with the victory.
