Bogaerts continues tear with another 4-hit game as Red Sox down Rays
Xander Bogaerts' bat is putting him in elite company.
The Boston Red Sox shortstop contributed another four-hit performance in his team's 11-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park on Saturday. That gave him his fifth four-hit game of the season, a feat no one else in baseball has achieved this year.
Date | Game | Hits |

May 24 | LAA @ BOS | 4 |
July 2 | BOS @ TOR | 4 |

Bogaerts is now tied for second all-time in Red Sox history for the most games with four or more hits by a player under 23, trailing only Ted Williams.
Bogaerts wasn't the only Red Sox infielder to turn in a spectacular performance Saturday. Third baseman Travis Shaw fell a triple shy of the cycle with four hits of his own, scoring five runs in the process.
"The offense, just an outstanding day," Red Sox manager John Farrell told reporters. "Quality at-bats up and down the lineup."
