New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia was released from hospital after a bout of dehydration and rejoined the club Friday in Chicago.
The club will monitor him over the weekend before determining when he'll make his next start.
Sabathia left his Thursday start in Texas versus the Rangers after five innings, and was later sent to a local hospital to treat dehydration symptoms.
The 35-year-old has struggled mightily to this point in 2015, compiling a 4-8 record with a 5.54 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 20 starts.
General manager Brian Cashman also announced Friday the club will promote top pitching prospect Luis Severino, likely early next week.
