The Miami Marlins have traded pitcher Sam Dyson to the Texas Rangers in exchange for catcher Tomas Telis and pitcher Cody Ege.
Dyson, 27, made 44 appearances out of the bullpen for the Marlins this season, allowing 41 hits and posting a 3.68 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
The former fourth-round selection in the 2010 draft has already surpassed his career high in innings pitched and should add depth to a Rangers bullpen headlined by closer Shawn Tolleson.
Telis, 24, has made 83 career plate appearances in the big leagues, batting .241/.268/.266.
Ege, a 24-year-old left-hander, was selected in the 15th round of the 2013 draft by the Rangers. He owns a 0.85 ERA at Double-AA Frisco this season.
