Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts has been placed on the seven-day concussion deal after flipping over the right-field wall at Fenway Park after catching a Jose Abreu fly ball in Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.

The hit was controversially ruled a home run.

Jackie Bradley Jr. has been called up to replace Betts in the outfield, but the injury comes at an inconvenient time for the Red Sox after already trading Shane Victorino earlier this week and Alejandro De Aza likely on his way out before the deadline.

The 22-year-old has a slash line of .265/.317/.438 in 97 games so far in 2015.
