The Los Angeles Dodgers have scratched All-Star pitcher Clayton Kershaw from Wednesday's start against the Oakland Athletics.

"My hip is really sore right now ... it flared up. I don't know why," Kershaw told reporters after the scratch became official.

Mike Bolsinger will start in his place.

Kershaw's next start has been pushed back to Friday's matchup against the Los Angeles Angels, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.

The left-hander is dealing with hip and glute soreness, compelling the team to keep him off the mound, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reported earlier Wednesday.

Kershaw is 8-6 and currently riding a 29-inning scoreless streak. The 27-year-old is coming off a 3-0 shutout against the New York Mets on Thursday, recording 11 strikeouts and no walks. He currently boasts a 2.51 ERA.
