The Philadelphia Phillies aren't taking any chances with Cole Hamels ahead of Friday's non-waiver trade deadline.

The team has pushed its ace's next start from Thursday to Friday night, reports MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, which is after the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

"I guess I'm pretty valuable to them right now," Hamels told MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.

Philadelphia is taking precautions in moving the start to ensure the ace doesn't get hurt prior to the deadline.

The Phillies are currently asking teams for their "best" offers as interest in the 2008 World Series MVP heats up.

Hamels is fresh off a no-hitter against the Chicago Cubs. In 20 starts this season, the left-hander has an ERA of 3.64 and 137 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings pitched, while limiting left-handed hitters to a batting line of .189/.277/.236.
