Earlier this week, the Miami Marlins seemed unwilling to trade veteran infielder Martin Prado without being offered something big in exchange for the 31-year-old.

With the non-waiver trade deadline just days away, however, the club's stance may have changed, as one American League executive said the Marlins are now willing to "at least contemplate" unloading Prado, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Prado, an All-Star back in 2010, remains under contract for $11 million next year and has regressed at the plate this season, his first with Miami. Through 73 games thus far, Prado has posted his lowest OPS (.680) since becoming a full-time player in 2009 while also missing time with a shoulder injury.

Prado, however, reportedly piqued the interest of the Kansas City Royals earlier this week, though the Marlins would need to eat some of his salary to broker a deal, according to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi.
