Report: Giants in talks with Red Sox about De Aza

Greg M. Cooper / USA TODAY Sports

Alejandro De Aza may be on the move yet again.

The San Francisco Giants are in talks with the Boston Red Sox about the 31-year-old outfielder, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

De Aza has been a popular trade target over the last two seasons, moving from the Chicago White Sox to the Baltimore Orioles last year before being traded to the Red Sox last June.

Rosenthal mentions the Giants' preference is to add an infielder, so they may be looking at other trades as well.

With Hanley Ramirez and an influx of outfield talent including Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Rusney Castillo all vying for playing time, De Aza has been the odd man out in Boston.

The Giants have managed just four wins in their last 10 games, but they're still in the hunt for the National League West pennant, sitting 3 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.

De Aza is hitting .261/.319/.755 with seven home runs, 32 RBIs, and five stolen bases in 290 plate appearances.
