Yordano Ventura may not need another rehab start Monday.
"He's ready," Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost told reporters Sunday.
That likely means Ventura will skip his scheduled rehab start Monday and pitch Thursday versus the Tampa Bay Rays.
The hard-throwing righty has been dealing with ulnar nerve irritation in his throwing elbow, which caused him to lose feeling in his fingers. Ventura hasn't reported any discomfort in his rehab and will get some additional rest with the upcoming All-Star break.
Ventura is only 3-6 with a 4.68 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 12 starts after a breakout 2014 campaign.
