Miguel Cabrera, the Detroit Tigers first baseman with a pair of MVP awards on his mantle, is clearly a proponent of the mantra "game respect game."

On Tuesday evening, the 32-year-old watched a young Cleveland Indians fan make an impressive snag on a foul ball during the bottom of the fifth inning at Progressive Field and, not surprisingly, acknowledged the excited young man's efforts with a smile and chest bump.

Cabrera, however, felt the fan deserved something a little extra, so the nine-time All-Star handed him a bat and a pair of batting gloves shortly thereafter as a token of recognition.

Though Cabrera has tormented the Indians' pitching staff this season, hitting .649/.702/1.108 with five homers in 10 games against Cleveland, he definitely made himself a new fan at Progressive Field on Tuesday.
