Mike Scioscia on opting out of contract: 'I love what I do, I love where I am'

It's hard to imagine Mike Scioscia not patrolling the dugout at Angel Stadium for years to come, but it's a possibility.

Baseball's longest-tenured manager can opt out of his contract at the conclusion of the 2015 season.

"I would never comment on anything regarding the details of my contract," Scioscia told MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez. "There's always change that comes with time. I've gone through them already through 16 years, with just growing as a person, growing as an individual. I love what I do, I love where I am. That's it."

Scioscia inked a 10-year extension with the Los Angeles Angels in 2009 which runs through 2018, but he can forego $18 million in salary to leave L.A. should he choose to do so in the fall.

The 56-year-old skipper has led the Halos to their only World Series championship in 2002, and six American League West titles during his 16-year tenure with the club.
