It wasn't just an ominous weather forecast that compelled fans to bring their raincoats to Target Field on Friday night.

Rather, locals prepared for some inclement weather because they knew Josh Donaldson, the Toronto Blue Jays' dynamic third baseman, was in town.

Known affectionately as the Bringer of Rain - a moniker inspired by his Twitter handle - Donaldson summoned yet another downpour in Friday's series opener against the Minnesota Twins, or, in layman's terms, continued his torrid stretch at the plate.

In the top of the fifth inning, the 29-year-old homered in his fourth consecutive game when he launched a mammoth three-run blast off Trevor May, his fifth round-tripper in his last 14 at-bats.

Heading into Friday's game, Donaldson had homered in three straight games on two previous occasions in his career, accomplishing the feat in August 2012 before doing it again last May.

Donaldson's ridiculous power is rivaled only by his sense of timing. On Tuesday night, the All-Star clobbered a walkoff, three-run homer to sink the Chicago White Sox, 10-9, before cranking a game-tying, ninth-inning solo shot the following afternoon at Rogers Centre.
