Nationals' Stephen Strasburg leaves after only 16 pitches
CINCINNATI (AP) Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals left Friday night's game after throwing only 16 pitches to the Cincinnati Reds. There was no immediate indication of his problem.
Strasburg has struggled in May, failing to reach the fourth inning in three of his four previous starts. He gave up a solo homer to Joey Votto in the first inning - the first baseman's first homer since April 28 - and walked Brayan Pena to start the second inning.
Strasburg shrugged his shoulders after his 16th pitch, and a trainer came out to check on him. After a brief conversation, Strasburg headed for the dugout.
