Johnny Cueto: (Elbow) Will Not Start This Weekend

The Reds are hoping Cueto (elbow) will be able to start a game in Philadelphia next week, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis:

There was some hope Cueto could start Sunday in the finale against Washington after throwing from up to 90 feet Wednesday, but the team will play it safe and instead look ahead to next week. Mike Lorenzen will get the nod Sunday opposite Tanner Roark. An MRI on Cueto's elbow revealed no structural damage, but he'll need to throw off a mound without issue before getting the green light to return.
