Seattle Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton left Thursday's contest with the Cleveland Indians in the fifth inning with left middle finger discomfort.
The southpaw will be re-evaluated Friday.
Paxton allowed four runs on eights hits and struck out four over 4 2/3 innings of work before making way for Joe Beimel.
The 26-year-old entered the game with a 3-2 record and 3.52 ERA in nine starts.
