Tampa Bay Rays fans are anxiously awaiting the return of Matt Moore to stabilize the starting rotation later this summer, but he nearly had his comeback attempt derailed during an appearance in an extended spring training game Thursday.
Moore, who is on track for a late-June or early-July return from Tommy John surgery, took a line drive to his chest during the outing.
Moore is fine after receiving the blow, and remained in the game to throw 46 pitches without a setback, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
