Archer matched zeroes with opposing starter Felix Hernandez for eight innings while striking out a dozen Mariners on Wednesday, but ended up with no decision.
Analysis:
Archer gave up just a single and a double, and despite racking up the huge strikeout total, he only needed 95 pitches. Unfortunately, Brad Boxberger got lit up in the ninth inning to break the scoreless tie. This was Archer's second double-digit-strikeout performance this year -- pushing him into a tie for third place in whiffs, just one behind co-leaders Clayton Kershaw and Corey Kluber -- and he's allowed just two runs in his last 19.1 innings. He'll draw the Angels on Tuesday.
