Hand has been announced as the Marlins' starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.
Analysis:
Hand will be making a spot start Wednesday after coming out of the bullpen for his first 14 appearances of the season. Hand has 31 big league starts under his belt, but he has not thrown more than 36 pitches in an outing since Apr. 12, so he will likely be on some sort of pitch count Wednesday. He will also be tasked with holding his own against a Pirates squad that won its fifth straight game - and second in as many days against the Marlins - on Tuesday night.
