Braves manager says team is trying to trade Alberto Callaspo

Nick Turchiaro / USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves are trying to trade third baseman Alberto Callaspo, manager Fredi Gonzalez indicated Monday after the team's 6-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Callaspo was scratched for Monday's game; this was evidently the reason why.

The veteran infielder has struggled mightily in 2015, batting a meager .206 with just one home run and eight RBIs in 37 games.

Callaspo inked a 1-year, $3-million deal with the Braves in the offseason and it's hard to imagine there will be a big market for the 32-year-old given his salary.
