VIDEO: Brewers' Davis nearly botches home run vs. Giants, hits another for good measure
A lack of focus almost cost Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Khris Davis a home run during the first inning of his club's series opener against the San Francisco Giants at Miller Park on Monday.
After launching an opposite-field solo shot off Tim Lincecum in the bottom of the first, Davis ostensibly missed home plate as he completed his jubilant trip around the bases. The Giants noticed Davis' misstep, though, and the 27-year-old was called out by home-plate umpire Will Little on appeal.
Little's ruling prompted a challenge from Brewers manager Craig Counsell, however, and a video review indicated that Davis just nicked the edge of home plate with his right heel, prompting the umpires to overturn the out call.

The incident proved quite instructive for Davis, though, who took extra care to step on the plate after crushing a third-inning solo shot off Lincecum - his second homer of the game.
