Sandoval (knee) was used as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's win over the Angels. He came in for Brock Holt, who left the game with an injury to his left hand, and singled in a run.

Analysis:

For the first time since 2011, Sandoval batted lefty against a left-handed pitcher. The switch-hitting Sandoval entered the game hitting just .049 (2-for-41) against southpaws this season, all from the right side, but changed it up Sunday. He said batting lefty wasn't because of his problems this season. Rather, it was a matter of his still-sore left knee, which would be the front knee when hitting right-handed.
