Josh Hamilton returns to the majors, set to start in left field for the Rangers in their series opener at Cleveland. Traded by the Angels back to Texas in late April, the former AL MVP has been in the minors recovering from shoulder surgery.

Among the players lining up for Memorial Day will be Cardinals reliever Mitch Harris, who made his major league debut last month. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he served on three deployments during five years in the Navy. Harris and his St. Louis teammates are home vs. Arizona.

OH BOY!

Red Sox slugger Mike Napoli brings his newly signed torrid bat to Minnesota for the start of a three-game series. He had a child named Ethan sign his bat in the dugout at Fenway Park on Friday, then hit four homers and drove in eight runs in three games against the Angels.

PENALTY PENDING?

Orioles reliever Brian Matusz is waiting to hear what Major League Baseball intends to do with him. The lefty was ejected over the weekend in Miami for having a sticky substance on his right arm. Brewers reliever Will Smith was suspended by MLB for eight games Friday for having a foreign substance on his arm.

HAPPY, HAPPY

Bartolo Colon starts for the Mets, a day after his 42nd birthday. He's 6-3 with a 4.85 ERA going into the matchup vs. the visiting Phillies.

A LITTLE SOMETHING

When Seattle visits Tropicana Field, it will mark the first-ever matchup of big league managers who played in the Little League World Series - Lloyd McClendon of the Mariners and Kevin Cash of the Rays.

WELCOME BACK

Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes is expected to come off the disabled list when the White Sox visit the Rogers Centre. The speedy leadoff man has been out since late April because of a cracked rib.
