Holt was removed from Sunday's game against the Angels in the bottom of the eighth inning after he lost feeling in his left hand, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.

Analysis:

Manager John Farrell characterized Holt's injury as a "nerve" issue, but there doesn't appear to be much concern just yet. Perhaps more detrimental to Holt's value was that Pablo Sandoval came on to pinch hit in Holt's place in what was his first appearance of the series. Sandoval looks like he's nearly recovered from a knee injury and should be ready to reclaim duties at third base at some point this week, which would push Holt back into a reserve role.
