Cabrera has yet to be able to establish himself at the plate this season -- his slash line stands at just .209/.264/.338 with 38 strikeouts in 40 games. This appears to just be a regular day off, as Cabrera doesn't appear to be in serious jeopardy to lose his grip on an everyday role, as Nick Franklin will take over the shortstop duties in his stead Thursday.
