MLB Game Summary - Milwaukee at Detroit

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Braun, Adam Lind and Aramis Ramirez hit three consecutive homers to highlight a six-run top of the third inning as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Detroit Tigers 8-1 in the second of a three-game set.

"That's fun to see," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said of the blasts.

Braun had two hits and drove in four, while Jimmy Nelson (2-4) allowed a run on three hits and four walks over eight strong innings for the Brewers, who have won the first two games of this series on the heels of a 1-4 stretch.

Braun and Ramirez were part of the last trio that went back-to-back-to-back for Milwaukee when the two of them and Corey Hart circled the bases in three straight Brewers at-bats on Aug. 27, 2012.

Anibal Sanchez (3-5) surrendered seven runs on seven hits and two walks over 3 2/3 frames for Detroit, which has dropped three straight.

"He just had trouble getting it down and they took advantage of it," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said.

The Tigers opened the scoring on J.D. Martinez's RBI single in the first, but the Brewers surged ahead in the third.

Hector Gomez hit a one-out double and advanced to third on Martin Maldonado's fly out before scoring on Carlos Gomez's bunt single to third. Carlos Gomez then stole second, Gerardo Parra walked and Braun brought them home with his opposite-field shot down the right-field line.

Lind launched his blast into the seats in right and Ramirez pounded his homer over the wall in left for a 6-1 Milwaukee margin.

"Just a classic (Braun) swing, the ball just backspinning to the opposite field and good swings by (Lind) and (Ramirez)," Counsell said.

Carlos Gomez's RBI double in the fourth and Braun's run-scoring double in the ninth capped the scoring.
