Milwaukee Brewers (14-25) at Detroit Tigers (23-16), 7:08 p.m. (ET)

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Detroit Tigers were able to win a series against the National League's best team over the weekend. Now, they are in danger of losing one to the worst, as they continue a three-game set with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday at Comerica Park.

After taking two of three from the St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit fell in Monday's opener to Milwaukee, as Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez smacked solo homers and the Brewers eked out a 3-2 win.

Gomez finished with two hits and a pair of RBI for the Brewers, who won for only the second time in six tries. Francisco Rodriguez blanked the Tigers in the ninth to record his eighth save of the season.

Kyle Lobstein (3-4) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over 6 2/3 innings for Detroit, which has lost two in a row after a three-game winning streak.

"He did a great job," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said of Lobstein. "Besides those two home runs, not a lot of hard-hit balls."

With a win on Tuesday, the Brewers would claim their first series win in Detroit since 2007, when they took the final two games after being no-hit by Justin Verlander in the opener.

Getting the call for the Tigers on Tuesday will be righty Anibal Sanchez, who is 3-4 with a 4.76 ERA. Sanchez, though, looked like his old self in beating the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, as he surrendered just a run and five hits and struck out nine over eight innings.

Sanchez has faced the Brewers seven times and is 2-1 with a 5.30 ERA.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, will counter with righty Jimmy Nelson, who has lost his last four decisions. Nelson's latest setback came on Wednesday to the Chicago White Sox, as he was charged with four runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings, dropping him to 1-4 to go along with a 4.22 ERA.

Nelson, who has allowed five homers in his last 13 2/3 innings after surrendering one in his first 29, is just 3-12 in his career as a starter.

This is the first series between these teams since the Tigers swept a three- game set back in 2009.
