Royals reinstate Escobar from 7-day concussion DL

John Rieger / USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar was reinstated from the 7-day concussion DL on Friday.

Analysis:

Escobar will return to the active roster after missing just one more than the minimum seven days required by his trip to the concussion DL. The shortstop suffered the injury when he was drilled in the head by a 96 mph fastball from Cleveland's Danny Santana. Escobar will presumably step back in atop the order to face lefty David Price in the series opener against Detroit.
