Scouts raved about Jung-ho Kang's power during his tenure with the Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization. On Sunday afternoon, though, Kang put his power on display in St. Louis, much to the dismay of the crowd at Busch Stadium.

Kang, who has struggled through his first few weeks with the Pittsburgh Pirates, crushed the first home run of his MLB career in the ninth inning of Sunday's clash with the Cardinals - a solo shot off Trevor Rosenthal to tie the game at 1-1.

The 27-year-old signed a four-year, $11 million deal with Pittsburgh this winter after blasting 40 home runs with a 1.198 OPS over 117 games for Nexen in 2014. Kang, though, entered Sunday's series finale with the Cardinals hitting only .259/.300/.333 (77 OPS+) with a pair of doubles and seven strikeouts through his first 14 games in the majors.
