Alcides Escobar: (Head) May Have Concussion

Royals manager Ned Yost said Thursday that Escobar (head) has some concussion-like symptoms and may end up on the 7-day DL, Joel Goldberg of FSKC reports.

Analysis:

While Escobar indicated otherwise earlier in the day, it seems there's some chance he suffered a concussion when he was hit in the helmet by a Danny Salazar fastball. The shortstop said he hopes to be back in the lineup Friday or Saturday, but he isn't available off the bench Thursday night, and there's still a chance he lands on the 7-day concussion DL. The Royals will do further testing Friday.
