Alcides Escobar: Leaves Wednesday After Beaning

Escobar left Wednesday's game after being hit on the helmet by a pitch from the Indians' Danny Salazar in the fifth inning, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

Escobar went down immediately after being hit by the Salazar fastball, which was clocked at 96 mph. After a minute or so on the ground, Escobar eventually sat up and was able to leave the field under his own power. Christian Colon came into the game to pinch run.
