The New York Mets are hot and reinforcements are on the way.

Third baseman David Wright will resume baseball activities on Monday, and could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday, according to manager Terry Collins.

Wright was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 15, one day after straining his right hamstring while stealing a base in a win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Wright, who is hitting .333 with a home run and four RBIs in 33 at-bats, is eligible to come off the DL on Thursday.

New York is 9-1 entering play Sunday night since Wright hit the DL.
