(SportsNetwork.com) - Tim Lincecum tries to string back-to-back wins together on Sunday when the San Francisco Giants close their three-game series with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
Lincecum picked up his first win of the season on Tuesday against Los Angeles, as he surrendered just a run and five hits in six innings. He also struck out five, but walked three batters to improve to 1-1, while lowering his ERA to 2.00.
"You pitch with your stuff," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "It's not about velocity. It's about command and having some pitches to work with. And Timmy has that. He missed some spots at times but kept his poise out there and made pitches when he had to."
Lincecum is 11-10 with a 3.96 ERA in 39 career starts against the Rockies and hasn't earned a win against them since Sept. 18, 2012.
Colorado, meanwhile, will hand the ball to lefty Tyler Matzek, whose only win of the season came against the Giants. Matzek beat them back on April 15, yielding just a run and five hits in six innings.
Matzek, who has won both of his starts against the Giants, has given up just four runs in 15 innings this season.
On Saturday, Joe Panik plated Nori Aoki with his bunt toward first base and the Giants beat Colorado, 5-4 in 11 innings.
Brooks Brown (0-1) started the decisive half-inning by walking Aoki, who drew four walks in six plate appearances for the game. Aoki moved to second on Matt Duffy's sacrifice bunt, and Angel Pagan put runners on the corners with his single back up the middle, setting up the key play.
"He did a good job," Bochy said of Aoki. "This was a big game for us."
Jean Machi (1-0) finished the 10th inning and retired the side in order in the 11th.
The Rockies swept a three-game series by the bay from April 13-15.
