Ottavino recorded his first win of the season in Wednesday's 5-4 nipping of the Padres.

Analysis:

Ottavino entered in a non-save situation in the top of the ninth inning and pitched a scoreless frame, then watched as Daniel Descalso plated a run in the bottom half of the inning to lead the Rockies to a walk-off victory. The right-hander's ERA remains unblemished, and while some peel back can be expected, his outstanding peripherals both this season (12.9 K/9, 1.0 BB/9, 57.1 GB%) and last (9.6, 2.2, 46.7%) suggest there's some level of sustainability to what he's doing. He's well-positioned to hang on to the Rockies' closer gig for good.
