Jose Iglesias isn't prepared to watch another shortstop take home the American League Gold Glove award this season.

The 25-year-old put both his range and preternatural arm strength on display Monday night at Comerica Park when he took away a single from Brett Gardner of the New York Yankees with a dazzling play at shortstop.

Despite missing the entire 2014 campaign due to shin splints, Iglesias' defensive skills haven't waned at all. Not only is he tied for the lead among American League shortstops with three defensive runs saved thus far, but the young Cuban also carried a ludicrous .436/.476/.538 batting line into Monday's series opener in Detroit.
