Collmenter's 2nd career shutout hands Giants 8th straight loss

San Francisco, CA - Josh Collmenter tossed a four-hit shutout and the Arizona Diamondbacks routed the slumping San Francisco Giants 9-0 in the second of a four-game set on Friday.

David Peralta went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored, A.J. Pollock had four hits and an RBI and Jake Lamb tripled and drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks, who were coming off a 7-6, 12-inning win for the series opener.

Collmenter (1-2) allowed just four hits and one walk with two strikeouts and also contributed on the offensive side of the ball with three hits and an RBI.

Jake Peavy (0-2) gave up four runs on eight hits in just 3 2/3 frames for the Giants, who dropped their eighth straight game.

In the third, Paul Goldschmidt followed a pair of one-out singles with one of his own to put Arizona on the board. Two batters later, Lamb smacked a two-run triple to right for a 3-0 lead.

Collmenter helped his own cause in the fourth with an RBI single and Tuffy Gosewisch followed suit in the fifth for a five-run advantage for the visitors.

After Peralta's RBI double in the sixth, Chris Owings hit a leadoff single and came home on Collmenter's single compounded by a Gregor Blanco error for a 7-0 game.

In the ninth, Pollock brought in Collmenter with a double and Ender Inciarte hustled home on a sacrifice fly to account for the final score.
