Dodgers' Kershaw strikes out 12 over 6 innings, surrenders 2 homers

Clayton Kershaw appears human after all.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' southpaw turned in a Jekyll-and-Hyde performance Friday night versus the Colorado Rockies, tossing six innings of three-run ball while striking out 12 in a 7-3 win.

Kershaw, who appeared dominant at times including a stretch where he whiffed five consecutive Rockies early in the contest, coughed up a pair of homers to Troy Tulowitzki and Charlie Blackmon.

Kershaw became only the sixth pitcher in franchise history to sit down 12 batters over the first six innings of a start, joining Hyun-Jin Ryu, Charlie Haeger, Chad Billingsley, Darren Dreifort and Sandy Koufax.

Kershaw improved to 1-1 and lowered his ERA to 4.42 with the victory.
