Joba Chamberlain is among a small group of relievers who will likely be considered for eighth inning work now that Tigers' closer Joe Nathan has gone on the disabled list and Joakim Soria has inherited his job.

Analysis:
Tigers' manager Brad Ausmus mentioned both Chamberlain and lefty Ian Krol as possible setup men during Wednesday's post-game interview. Al Albuquerque will likely also get an audition. Chamberlain can strike guys out, but has a propensity to gift walks to the opposition and that could put him on a short leash in the eighth.
