Crow (elbow) was diagnosed Tuesday with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow and is facing season-ending Tommy John surgery, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.

Analysis:

Acquired in an offseason trade coming off a down 2014, Crow was in line to earn a relief gig with the Marlins. He will seek a second opinion before surgery, but it seems inevitable that Crow will miss all of the 2015. His absence will allow Sam Dyson to claim the final spot in the Marlins' bullpen.
