Schlitter pitched 1.1 scoreless innings Sunday and is in contention for one of the remaining spots in the Cubs' bullpen, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

The Cubs are expected to have seven pitchers in their bullpen, and with Hector Rondon, Pedro Strop, Neil Ramirez, Jason Motte, and either Travis Wood or Edwin Jackson already locked in, there are probably only two spots up for grabs. Schlitter was terrible in his first two outings of the spring, giving up eight runs total, but he's settled down since then, giving up just four hits and one run in six innings.
