Analysis:

As expected, Wood will slot into the Opening Day rotation behind Julio Teheran, with Shelby Miller likely to follow for the final game of the season-opening series. Wood gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk, with two strikeouts over six innings, in a Grapefruit League start against the Blue Jays on Saturday, giving him a 4.30 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB for the spring (14.2 innings). He will make one shorter spring start before the regular season begins.
