Smyly (shoulder) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Sunday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis:
Smyly will get back onto the mound Sunday for his second bullpen of the week, and if all goes well, manager Kevin Cash said the lefty should throw to live hitters during his next session. It's uncertain whether Smyly will pitch in a Grapefruit League game, but it seems at least possible in light of his progress. Cash said earlier this month that he thought Smyly would miss just one turn through the rotation to begin the season.
