Ryan Zimmerman suffers minor injury making diving play at 1st base

Reinhold Matay / USA TODAY Sports

Ryan Zimmerman is hurt, again.

The Washington Nationals first baseman suffered a minor injury making a diving play at first base during Friday's Grapefruit action that led to his early removal from the game.

Manager Matt Williams said Zimmerman banged himself on the left side on the play, but didn't seem overly concerned about the injury.

The oft-injured Zimmerman was limited to 61 games last season due to shoulder and hamstring problems.

The Nationals' Opening Day lineup will likely already be missing Denard Span (abdominal), Anthony Rendon (knee) and Jayson Werth (shoulder).
