Dodgers' League to undergo MRI on right shoulder; likely to start season on DL

Charles LeClaire / USA TODAY Sports

Brandon League has encountered an injury setback.

The Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander experienced renewed discomfort in his ailing right shoulder during a throwing session Tuesday and will undergo an MRI.

League received a cortisone injection over a week ago and may not be ready by Opening Day.

The back end of the Dodgers' bullpen is already shorthanded to begin the year due to closer Kenley Jansen's foot injury.

League recorded a solid 2.57 ERA in 63 outings last year for the Dodgers.
