Cardinals' Wainwright to make spring debut Saturday

The St. Louis Cardinals are getting their ace back.
Adam Wainwright will take the mound for the first time this spring on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves.
The right-hander had been sidelined following minor offseason elbow surgery and an abdominal strain suffered while working out last month, but successfully completed a three-inning game Monday without any setbacks.
Wainwright posted a 20-9 record and career-low 2.38 ERA last season while finishing third in NL Cy Young voting.
The projected timetable allows Wainwright to make three starts prior to the season, leaving his status for Opening Day undetermined.
