MLB Game Summary - Chicago Cubs at San Francisco
Scottsdale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants used a five-run eighth inning to beat the Chicago Cubs 8-6 in Cactus League action on Thursday.
Giants outfielder Hunter Pence left the game after getting hit by a pitch in the sixth inning. X-rays showed that Pence suffered a non-displaced fracture of the ulna bone in his left forearm. He is expected to be out 6-to-8 weeks.
Daniel Carbonell hit a two-run homer in the seventh for the Giants. Ryan Vogelsong got the start and gave up four runs on three hits over two innings.
Kyle Schwarber hit a grand slam for the Cubs, who got a solo homer from Billy McKinney. Starter Jacob Turner tossed two scoreless innings.
