MLB Game Summary - NY Yankees at Pittsburgh

Bradenton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Austin's eighth-inning home run lifted the New York Yankees over the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-1, in exhibition action on Thursday.

Austin greeted reliever Deolis Guerra by lifting the 1-2 pitch over the left field wall in his only at-bat in the game.

Garrett Jones went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Yankees, who got two innings of one-hit ball from starter Esmil Rogers.

Alex Rodriguez did not play for the Bombers. Jacoby Ellsbury went 0-for-3.

Andrew McCutchen went 0-for-3 for the Pirates. Jung-Ho Kang had a double and is now hitting .500 through the early part of spring training in his first season in the big leagues.

Kang signed as a free agent with the Pirates after playing the first part of his career in Korea. He hit .356 with 36 doubles, 40 home runs and 117 RBI in 117 games with the Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization in 2014.

Francisco Liriano started for the Pirates and allowed two hit, struck out two and walked one in two innings.
