The A's are planning on moving Crisp to left field for the 2015 season, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

The A's are making the move in order to keep Crisp healthier during the season after he missed a total of 36 games in 2014. Crisp also has a very poor arm in the outfield and moving to left would mitigate that weakness. In addition, multiple defensive metrics (his UZR rating per 150 defensive games was an abysmal -24.1) graded him very poorly in center field in 2014. Crisp hit only .246 with nine homers and 19 stolen bases in 2014 as he dealt with a lingering neck issue for most of the season after crashing into the wall in early May.
