Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox are dealing with their first potential injury of the spring.

Outfielder Rusney Castillo is reportedly fighting some pain in his left side and will be evaluated on Wednesday, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe

Castillo went 1-for-3 in the Red Sox's 1-0 win over Boston College on Monday while hitting leadoff.

The 27-year-old Cuban agreed to a seven-year, $72.5-million deal with the Red Sox last August and hit .333/.400/.528 with a pair of home runs in 10 games.

Castillo is expected to compete with Mookie Betts for the team's starting job in center field.
