Miguel Cabrera: (Ankle) Takes BP Monday
Cabrera (ankle) took batting practice on the field Monday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis:
As of a week ago, he was running at just 65 percent of his body weight on an anti-gravity treadmill, but it is good to see he has been cleared to start hitting. Cabrera has said he will need about 50-to-60 spring at-bats to prepare for the regular season, and if he can continue to progress with his running program, we could see him in game action in a couple weeks. His status for Opening Day remains uncertain, but he should still be a first round pick in fantasy leagues based on the current information.
